Working with FireFactor
In September, Academy students had the privilege of helping to assemble the side-by-side burn demonstration units that were used by the University of Illinois at their regular event known as "FireFactor." The University of Illinois educates their students about fire safety every semester. The educational effort usually culminates in showing the students the effectiveness of fire sprinkler systems in the dorms and apartments. The Illinois' Fire Services Institute conducts the burn and other classes for the Department of Student Housing. The students have enjoyed our relationship with the Institute and are fortunate to be able to participate in events like these.
